STOP Breed Specific Legislation....look back through history.... racism, hatred, lynchings and murder.....fueled by ignorance..... how is this different? The victims are dogs who cannot speak and defend themselves. They rely on YOU to be their voices.

Breed Specific Legislation

"An attempt to eliminate entire breeds of dogs due to human ignorance and irresponsibility"

Sorry Again

We want to thank Nikki for creating and allowing

us to display this clip and for providing the links (below).

We've often heard the old sayings "history repeats itself" and "we learn from our mistakes." Obviously one of these statements is true and the other appears to be quite false. Throughout history we have unfairly singled out groups of people due to their race, religion or color and proceeded to persecute them. Quite often such activities led to the deaths of innocent men, women and even children. Fortunately, signs of intelligent life emerged and discrimination laws were implemented. These laws not only still prevail today but they have become stronger than ever. The message is clear that ignorance and hate will not be tolerated and violators will be punished.

Have we learned from our mistakes? Apparently we have not but now we have chosen to focus our ignorance and hatred on innocent victims who cannot speak or defend themselves. It appears we have decided that another entire "race" is evil and should be eliminated. This time instead of people we are focused on specific breeds of dogs. Does a high crime rate in one neighborhood make every resident of that neighborhood a "criminal" who is just waiting for an opportunity to commit a crime?  Does a high statistical rate of crime among one ethnic or religious group make the entire group bad or evil? No, it does not so why are we allowing the same type of ignorance to prevail once again?

I ask that you please make an intelligent choice and discourage your lawmakers from supporting Breed Specific Legislation. Please stop classifying entire breeds of dogs as vicious from the moment they are born. Some dogs do become aggressive but there are many causes of aggressive behavior many of which can be controlled. Sometimes it is caused by a medical condition, it can be caused by some medications and there is strong suspicion that even vaccines can contribute to aggression in dogs by causing brain inflammation  just as it has been associated with encephalitis (brain / nerve inflammation) in humans. The most unacceptable forces behind aggression are irresponsible humans who neglect to train their dogs and even worse are those who actually abuse them and train them to be aggressive for the purpose of fighting.

Like humans, dogs can be good or they can be bad. Unfortunately, it is usually the human owners of these dogs who will make that determination. If one breed is banned these irresponsible people could easily use their same teaching methods on another breed.

Over the last forty years we have made tremendous progress by enacting laws to protect the victims who were / are being discriminated against and punish the guilty parties. Instead of trying to eliminate entire breeds of dogs perhaps we should punish the bad humans instead of the innocent animals and the responsible people who love them.

Stop Breed Specific Legislation.

We thank you for your support.

Vaccine Reactions - Neurologic Symptoms

Neurologic symptoms are the most common vaccine reaction seen in dogs. Canine distemper vaccination is the most common cause of neurologic disease, and can cause an inflammation of the brain. Measles vaccine in puppies has been reported to rarely cause damage to the nervous system. Cerebellar disease has been reported in puppies and kittens less than 5 weeks of age who were vaccinated with a modified live vaccine.
